Landscapes

Landscapes

Man can not compete with Mother Nature in my estimation. I am continually in awe at the cloud formations, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, snow on the mountains, or the color of the landscape in the Fall.

Aerial Landscapes

Aerial Landscapes

These paintings are the result of flying in a small plane with my husband.  I love it! The abstract patterns that emerge when I am 1500 ft in the air are simply wonderful. A favorite time of day is late afternoon when the shadows are long.

Patina and Oil on Copper

Patina and Oil on Copper

Applying acid to the copper to create a patina is the result of personal study on patinas on metals. I enjoy the fact that the acid has a mind of its own and I'm always surprised by the end result. I was inspired by the dried acid to paint on the surface. The kokonee salmon are local fish that leave Lake Tahoe and spawn in Taylor Creek in the Fall.

Patina on Copper

Patina on Copper

More copper is exposed in this process than any other of my works.  I have always loved the color of copper and had dreamed of using it in some way in my work. The warmth and luminocity is what I enjoy in this metal.

Wildlife

Wildlife

When you are out in nature, you are bound to see wildlife as well as curious cows, chickens, birds and dogs. Of course, I can't get them to "sit" for me, so these are the result of a photo captured at the moment.
